Good VS Evil art challenge!
This challenge is meant for people who's like to add something great to their portfolio and may or may not need some guidance.
Three contestants will receive an artbook (you'll get to choose between a bunch). I will pick those winners based on 3 secret category's, so the level of skill may be different to still stand a change!
The main price still remains a great portfolio addition that will hopefully land you a cool job or maybe get you into artschool (it will certainly level you up!) DING!
The assignment.
Good VS Evil. All great IP's out there have ambassadors of the good as well as their opposite side raging for evil.

Many deviants know well…
…“The Lost Kids: Seeking Samarkand”, the 200+ pages graphic novel written and created by Brazilian storyteller FelipeCagno (https://www.deviantart.com/felipecagno).
What few know is the story of how it took him almost a decade to bring this story to the public between script re–writes, production setbacks and more than three years of working with a team of artists spread across the globe.

Art + Anatomy book Recommendations
Edit: updating this for new followers who might want to see this :D
15 books I recommend for anatomy, art fundamental study and art inspiration. Please note that these are simply my personal recommendations and books that's helped me a lot in the past.
I've taken photos for these books, so Here's a less image-heavy list (on tumblr)
This took so much longer than I first anticipated so I really hope people find this helpful cause, seriously, spending 3 days on this does not feel like it was worth it ^^;
edit: I'm putting the tl;dr list here first as a preview of the books I'm recommending.

PART_2 ! General
So... this is the first part in featuring some extremely useful tutorials which can be found on DA (and some from off-site as well). This one isn't limited on digital art only, but the rest will be. I wanted to post everything in one journal, but theres 200 thumbnail limit, sooo yeah :XD: I decided to divide everything in following categories: sketching/referencing/anatomy etc, General, blending, steps, color, perspective/Composition/value, Walkthrough, nose, hair, skin, photoshop/wacom, brushes, eyes, lips, textures, ears, fabric/clothes, environment, misc (how to paint water, fire, rocks, rai

Promote your art (on DeviantArt)
So you have your awesome art project that, you feel, the whole world needs to see? So you've signed up to be a DeviantArt member. Because, DA... that's where all the cool artists reside... isn't it? So you've posted your art. You've been here for a few weeks, or perhaps even a few months or years. But despite all your efforts, you still get close to zero comments. Why? What went wrong? It could be your art is really bad. But most likely, you're not approaching this subject the right way. Becoming well known on DA doesn't only rely on your art skills. It also relies on your marketing skills. And let that be exactly what most aspiring artist fo

The special kind of dedication, spirit and discipline devoted to the assembly and construction of a successful Group within the vast technicolor ocean of artworks, artists and art appreciators that is deviantART might very well be the experiential epitome of what it is to be a part of the deviantART journey. From the very first conception, through the ten thousandth practical step, alltheoriginalnames (https://www.deviantart.com/alltheoriginalnames) and his cadre of steadfast partners in artful curation have built a virtual sanctuary of the
It's time to refresh the tutorial journal! Added some new ones and removed those which, after some time, I found a bit misleading.
Below you'll find a list of tutorials I personally think of as the best on dA. If I have any problems with painting something I usually take a look at one of those.
Is there anything you're having troubles with? Need help looking for a good tutorial? Or maybe you'd like to see a video walk-through of me painting something?
I'm open for suggestions for what kind of tutorial/walk-through you'd like to see from me. If you're interested in anything, post your suggestions in the comments!

This week the superstars of deviantART panel will provide unique insight and advice for artists on the rise in the deviantART community.
Being a member of the deviantART community might be the most important support system a young artists could ever hope to have. That being said, there is also the problem of f

'Something' kind of worth reading.
Have you ever feel mad with yourself with no reason, when every aspect of your life going good? Have you ever lost a chance or a great opportunity and regretted it? Yeah, I bet you have.
Well this is something that, unlike most the things I write, I gave it some thought. Something I don't write out of anger. Something I gave time to cool down.
The problem is people, the problem is the so called society, the problem is that we were never trained to grab an opportunity and be happy because we're doing what we want, and not only what we can. How many times people miss an opportunity just because they think that opportunity wasn't for them?
